My Teddy & I...

My Teddy & I...

As I sit and reflect on January, all I can say is “Whew chile, the ghetto!” I can already tell my patience will be tested more than ever this year and I will continue to experience things that I do not understand; but will ultimately bring me closer to where I need to be. I used to dwell on every negative thing that would happen to me. My favorite lines use to be “But why me? Bad things always happen to me.” Embarrassed, speaking on it now I can genuinely say my mindset has shifted. Now when bad situations happen to me I find myself asking these questions…

“Is the situation really that bad? What can I learn from this? What could I have done differently to not end up in this situation or most importantly what is God trying to reveal to me?”

Believe it or not, I have always struggled with being patient throughout my entire life. Well, in certain areas at least. I felt the need to rush everything and as a result I would always end up stuck back in the same spot, reliving the lesson I should have learned a long time ago.

“Patience is where we realize that to rush something is to compromise it to its own destruction. Maturity is to realize that the most effective way to stop the destruction is by beginning to develop patience. And the first place that we need to do that is with ourselves.”

- Craig D. Lounsbrough

Breathe, Relax & Be Patient...

All things are working together for a greater good. Trust me. Speaking to myself first, I know every day is a daily struggle; but with time anything becomes easier.

Speaking of patience, I waited months before I purchased this teddy coat. My Mango gang (friends) will tell you. I kept putting it on hold, trying it on, waiting for the price to change or for the store to have a sale. So I waited and waited and waited. Like I mentioned before I can be patient in areas that honestly do not matter. I did not need this Teddy Coat, I wanted it. I patiently waited for the price to drop. I tell you guys this stupid story because if I can wait on material things that mean nothing… I can be patient with myself, with the people around me and God’s timing on things.

This outfit was supposed to focus on my coat; but every time I look at these pictures something new grabs my attention. The red pop of color from my Yankees hat. My thrifted denim on denim oversized button down and mom jeans. My quilted bag from Zara or not to mention my new “Run Star Hike” Converse. Wow, overall a 10/10 if I do say so myself lol. As usually all available items will be linked below.

I hope all of you practice patience this month.
